The area of a rectangular field is 1600 sq m. If the length of the field is 80 m, find the perimeter of the field.

Solution
Given, area of the rectangular field = 1600 sq m
And length of the rectangular field = 80 m
We know that, area of rectangle = Length × Breadth
Let breadth of the rectangular field = b
Then, Area = 80 × b
⇒ 1600 = 80 × b
⇒ `1600/80 = (80 xx b)/80` ...[Dividing both sides by 80]
⇒ b = 20 m
Now, perimeter of the rectangular field
= 2 × (Length + Breadth)
= 2 × (80 + 20)
= 2 × 100
= 200 m
