Solution

Superstition plays an important role in Julius Caesar. The Romans believe in omens, dreams and supernatural warnings.

Caesar shows superstition when he asks Antony to touch Calpurnia during the Lupercal race so that she may be cured of infertility. Later, Calpurnia is frightened by her dream and the strange signs seen in Rome. The priests also warn Caesar after finding no heart in the sacrificed animal.

Casca too is deeply affected by the storm and unusual events. However, Caesar ignores several warnings because of his pride.

Thus, superstition helps to create suspense and also shows how warnings of danger surround Caesar before his death.
