Solution
Social advertising either refers to advertising about socially relevant issues or uses social relationship networks to promote a product/service and reach out to its target audience. In the former context, the advertising campaigns are created in the public interest. The basic idea is to create awareness and make a difference. For example, a campaign for blood donation, awareness programs for the ill effects of smoking, Swachch Bharat Abhiyan, Do Gaj Doori Mask Hai Jaroori, etc. Social ad campaigns strive to educate people about the social issue and to convince them to adopt changes in their lifestyle to build a better future.
Whereas Social media means the various means of communication on the Internet used by the public and members of society to show their opinions, views, information, etc. Print (newspapers and magazines), radio, television, films, outdoor and other media are used for social advertising. In recent years, social media has become quite popular. Examples of Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google Hangouts, Skype, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc.
