−(x − 3) + 4 < −2x + 5

−(x − 3) + 4 < −2x + 5

Expand the left-hand side:

−(x − 3) + 4

= −x + 3 + 4

= −x + 7

−x + 7 < −2x + 5

Add 2x to both sides:

x + 7 < 5

Subtract 7 from both sides:

x < −2
