∴ ` 5/6 - 1/3 = (5 xx 1)/(6 xx 1)- (1 xx 2)/(3 xx 2)`

= `(5 - 2)/6`
= `3/6`
= `1/2`
Hence, `5/6 - 1/3 = 1/2`
