Solution

`(3"x" - 2)/7 - ("x" - 2)/4 = 2`

⇒ `(12"x" - 8 - 7"x" + 14)/28 = 2`

⇒ `(5"x" + 6)/28 = 2`

⇒ 5x + 6 = 28 × 2

⇒ 5x + 6 = 56

⇒ 5x = 56 - 6 = 50

⇒ x = `50/5 =10`

∴ x = 10
