Solution

Given: `(x^4 xx x^5)/(x^3 xx x^-1)`

Step-wise calculation:

1. Apply the product rule for exponents in the numerator and denominator separately:

x4 × x5 = x4 + 5

x4 × x5 = x9

x3 × x–1 = x3 + (–1)

x3 × x–1 = x2

2. Now the expression becomes:

`x^9/x^2`

3. Apply the quotient rule for exponents:

x9 ÷ x2 = x9 2

x9 ÷ x2 = x7
