x + 7 + 4(x - 5)
= x + 7 + 4x - 20
= (1 + 4)x + (7 - 20)
= x + 4x + 7 - 20
= 5x - 13
Putting x = 2 we get,
= 5x - 13
= (5 × 2) - 13
= 10 - 13
= -3
