Solution

The given equation is 3x2 + 13x + 14 = 0

Putting x = –2 in the given equation, we get

LHS = 3 × (–2)2 + 13 × (–2) + 14

= 12 – 26 + 14

= 12 + 14 – 26

= 26 – 26

= 0 = RHS

∴ x = –2 is a solution of the given equation.
