Rohit bought a tape-recorder for Rs. 1,500 and sold it for Rs. 1,800. Calculate his profit or loss percent.

Solution
C.P. of tape-recorder = Rs. 1500
S.P. = Rs. 1800
∴ Gain = S.P. - C.P.
= Rs. 1800 - Rs. 1500 = Rs. 300
Gain % = `("Gain" xx 100)/"C.P."`
`= (300 xx 100)/1500` = 20 %
