| Darwin’s theory of the survival of the fittest promotes unhealthy competition. | Unless renewed, knowledge is a dead thing. |
| The success of a school must not be assessed in terms of the number of IAS officers, CAs, doctors, engineers, etc. its ex-students eventually become. | Our society is putting too much of pressure on young minds by making them too ambitious and career-conscious a bit too soon. |

Take up any topic your group feels strongly about. Or, your teacher may assign each group a topic from the above. Each member of the group should express his or her opinion about it within the group. Keep jotting down each other’s points. Then, choose a secretary-cum-spokesperson of the group. Help him or her to bring all the points together. Each group’s spokesperson will then present the views of the group on the topic before the whole class for two or three minutes.

Solution
Our society puts too much pressure on young minds
Our group feels that young people today face excessive pressure to succeed academically and build a successful career at an early age. Parents and teachers often expect students to score high marks and choose careers that are considered prestigious. This can make students anxious and prevent them from discovering their own interests and talents.
At the same time, ambition is necessary for growth and success. Young people should be encouraged to set goals, but they should not be forced to follow someone else’s definition of success. Education should help students develop confidence, creativity, values and practical skills along with academic knowledge.
Therefore, parents and teachers should guide students with understanding rather than putting unnecessary pressure on them. A balanced approach can help young people become successful as well as happy and responsible individuals.
