Given: Ordinate (y) = 8; Abscissa (x) = three-fourths of the ordinate.

Step-wise calculation:

1. y = 8.

2. `x = 3/4 xx y` 

= `3/4 xx 8`

= 6

3. So the coordinates are (x, y) = (6, 8). To plot: from the origin move 6 units right along the x-axis, then 8 units up along the y-axis; the point lies in Quadrant I.
