One side of a parallelogram is 18 cm and its area is 153 cm2. Find the distance of the given side from its opposite side.

Solution
Area of parallelogram ABCD = 153 cm2
Side (Base) AB = 18 cm

∴ Distance DL between AB and DC .....(altitude)
= `"Area"/"Base"=153/18=17/2"cm"` = 8.5 cm
