There is an inverse relationship between fertility rates and female literacy rates in the given Indian states. In general, states with higher female literacy rates have lower fertility rates. For example, Delhi, Punjab, and Karnataka have relatively high female literacy and lower fertility rates. On the other hand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand have comparatively lower female literacy and higher fertility rates.

• Education and Awareness: Educated women are more aware of healthcare, family planning, and the benefits of having a smaller family.
• Women’s Empowerment: Education gives women greater confidence and opportunities to participate in employment and make decisions about their families.
• Age of Marriage: Girls who continue their education are more likely to marry later, which can reduce the number of childbearing years.
• Economic Opportunities: Education and employment provide women with greater economic independence. Families may also prefer fewer children so that they can provide better education and opportunities to each child.
• Better Healthcare: Educated women are more likely to understand and use healthcare and family-planning services.
