Solution
The two types of cyclones are Tropical Cyclones and Temperate Cyclones. Tropical cyclones occur mainly over warm tropical seas between 8° and 15°-20° north and south of the Equator, where the sea surface temperature reaches about 27°C. They are small in size, travel from east to west, and are associated with high temperature and humidity. Temperate cyclones occur in mid-latitude regions between 35° and 65° latitude. They are larger, move from west to east, have lower wind speeds, and produce lighter rainfall over many days. Tropical cyclones are most frequent in summer, while temperate cyclones are more common in winter.
