Solution
Planetary winds are the permanent winds that blow throughout the year in fixed directions within certain latitudinal zones on the Earth. These winds blow consistently from high-pressure belts to low-pressure belts and correspond to the Earth’s major pressure belts. Because of their regularity and association with these pressure belts, they are also called prevailing winds. The main planetary winds include the Trade Winds, Westerlies, and Polar Easterlies (or Polar Winds). These winds play a major role in regulating global weather patterns and ocean currents.
