Solution 1
The Arabian Sea branch of the South west monsoon blows parallel to the Aravalli Hills. Since the moisture-bearing winds do not strike the mountains, they do not cause any precipitation in Western Rajasthan.
Solution 2
The Aravali Range, which runs parallel to the wind and is relatively low in height, prevents rainfall from the Arabian Sea branch of the South West Monsoon in Western Rajasthan. The geographical configuration prevents moisture-laden breezes from the Arabian Sea from reaching Western Rajasthan, resulting in low rainfall.
