Solution
The line judges perform their functions by using flags to signal:
- To perform out their functions by signalling with flags.
- To determine whether the ball is in or out when it lands near their line(s).
- To monitor the touches of out balls by the receiving team.
- Check if the ball touches the antenna, served ball and third hit of the team crosses the net outside the crossing space.
- Check for players walking outside their court during a service hit, excluding the server.
- Check the server’s foot defects.
- Check for any contact between players and the top 80 cm of the antenna on their side of the court during ball play or interference.
- Check if the ball is crossing the net or touching the antenna on the opponent’s side of the court.
- Repeat the signal upon the first referee's request.
