Solution

The mean temperature for the 7 days is 30°C.

Total temperature for the week = mean × number of days

= 30 × 7

= 210°C

The mean temperature for the first 3 days is 32°C.

Total temperature for the first 3 days = mean × number of days

= 32 × 3

= 96°C

Total temperature for the last 4 days = 210 − 96

= 114°C

Mean temperature for the last 4 days = `"Total temperature for the last 4 days"/"Number of days"`

= `114/2`

= 28.5°C
