Question
Let f: A → B be a function defined by f(x) = `x/2` – 1, where A = {2, 4, 6, 10, 12}, B = {0, 1, 2, 4, 5, 9}. Represent f by a table

Solution
A = {2, 4, 6, 10, 12}
B = {0, 1, 2, 4, 5, 9}
f(x) = `x/(2) - 1`
f(2) = `(2)/(2) - 1` = 1 – 1 = 0
f(4) = `(4)/(2) - 1` = 2 – 1 = 1
f(6) = `(6)/(2) - 1` = 3 – 1 = 2
f(10) = `(10)/(2) - 1` = 5 – 1 = 4
f(12) = `(12)/(2) - 1` = 6 – 1 = 5
| X | 2 | 4 | 6 | 10 | 12 |
| f(x) | 0 | 1 | 2 | 4 | 5 |
