Length of a rectangular field is 6 times its breadth. If the length of the field is 120 cm, find the breadth and perimeter of the field.

Solution
Given, length of rectangular field l = 120 cm
Let breadth of rectangular field = b
Given, length is 6 times its breadth.
∴ l = 6b
⇒ 120 = 6b
⇒ `120/6 = (6b)/6` ...[Dividing both sides by 6]
⇒ b = 20 cm
We know that,
Perimeter of the field = 2 × (Length + Breadth)
= 2(120 + 20)
= 2 × (140)
= 280 cm
