Solution
Ozone gas is present in the stratosphere layer of the atmosphere. Specifically, the ozone layer lies within the stratosphere between about 20 km to 50 km above the Earth’s surface. This layer absorbs most of the Sun’s harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation, protecting life on Earth from its damaging effects. The stratosphere is sometimes called the ozonosphere because of the presence of the ozone layer in this region.
