Atomic number Number of protons Number of electrons
Z p e
Nitrogen atom has 7 Protens 7 electrons

∴ Atomic number [Z] = no. of protons [p] = no. of electrons [e]

Z = 7 = 7

∴ Atomic number of nitrogen is 7.
