In the given figure, ΔOAB ~ ΔOCD. If AB = 8 cm, BO = 6.4 cm, OC = 3.5 cm and CD = 5 cm, find (i) OA (ii) DO.

Solution
(i) Let OA be X cm.
∵ Δ OAB - Δ OCD
∴`(OA)/(OC)=(AB)/(CD)`
⇒ `x/3.5=8/5`
⇒`x=(8xx3.5)/5=5.6`
Hence, OA = 5.6 cm
(ii) Let DO be Y cm
∵ Δ OAB-Δ OCD
∴ `(AB)/(CD)=(OB)/(OD)`
⇒ `8/5=6.4/y`
⇒` y=(6.4xx5)/8=4 `
Hence, DO = 4 cm
