Solution

Given:

4x2 − 4x + 1 = 0

Verification

Substitute `x=−1/2` in the left-hand side (LHS):

`4(-1/2)^2 -4(-1/2)+1`

`= 4(1/4) +2+1`

= 1 + 2 + 1

= 4

LHS ≠ 0,

x = `−1/2` is not a solution of 4x2 − 4x + 1 = 0
