Solution
In sexual reproduction, the offspring inherits genetic material from both parents. Therefore, the newborn shows similarities in various characteristics with its parents. These inherited characteristics are transmitted through genes present on chromosomes.
For example:
- A child may have the same eye colour, hair colour, or blood group as one or both parents.
- The shape of the nose, facial features, height, and other physical traits may also resemble those of the parents.
However, due to the combination and recombination of genes from both parents, the offspring is not exactly identical to either parent and shows some variations.
