Let x m be the length of the model ship when the height of the mast is 9 cm.
Now, according to question,

| Length of the ship (in m) | x | 28 |
∴ `(9/100)/x = 12/28`
⇒ `(9xx28)/(12xx100)` = x
⇒ 0.21 = x
