Solution 1

Total no. of possible outcomes = 35 {10 prizes, 25 blanks}

 ⟶ Event of getting a prize

No. of favourable outcomes = 10 {10 prizes}

Probability, P(E) =`"No.of favorable outcomes"/"Total no.of possible outcomes"`

= `10/35`

= `2/7`

Solution 2

Total number of possible outcomes, n(S) = 10 + 25 = 35

Total number of prizes, n(E) = 10

Probability of getting a prize

= `(n(E))/(n(S))`

= `10/35`

= `2/7`
