Explanation:

OT = 7 cm (radius) and PT = 24 cm (tangent).

OT is perpendicular to PT, so triangle OTP is right-angled at T.

By Pythagoras, OP2 = OT2 + PT2 

= 72 + 242

= 49 + 576

= 625

Hence OP = `sqrt(625)`

= 25 cm
