Dear Diary,

Life changed completely after Harold was born. He became the centre of our lives, and both Emily and I wanted to give him the best future possible. As the years passed, we became very careful about keeping my profession as a boxer a secret from him. We feared that Harold, with his refined manners and serious nature, would be ashamed of having a professional boxer as his father.

Today, however, all our fears have disappeared. Harold has discovered the truth, and his reaction has surprised me completely. Instead of feeling ashamed, he was delighted to learn that I am Young Porky, the boxer he has always admired. I feel relieved and deeply happy. I now realise that Emily and I had judged Harold unfairly.

I am proud of my son, and I am grateful that the truth has finally brought us closer.
