It is given that `x = (-1)/2` is the solution of the quadratic equation 3x2 + 2kx – 3 = 0

`:.3(-1/2)^2+2k(-1/2)-3=0`

`=>3/4-k-3=0`

`=>k=3/4-3=-9/4`

Hence, the value of k is `-9/4`.
