If the weight of the box is 1.5 kg and the total weight of the box with the thirty cubes is 2.4 kg, calculate the weight of each cube giving your answer in grams.

Solution

Given that,

If the weight of the box is 1.5 kg and the total weight of the box with the thirty cubes is 2.4 kg,

Now we know that,

1 kg = 1000 g

Then,

1.5 kg = 1.5 × 1000 g = 1500 g

2.4 kg = 2.4 × 1000 g = 2400 g

Weight of 30 cubes = Total weight – Box weight

= 2400 – 1500

= 900 g

Therefore, the weight of each cube is `900/30` = 30 g
