Mass lost (Δm) = 0.6 g = 0.6 × 10−3 kg

Speed of light (c) = 3 × 108 m/s

Conversion factor = 1 kW h = 3.6 × 106 J

1. Calculate Energy in Joules (E):

E = Δm × c2

= (0.6 × 10−3) × (3 × 108)2

= 0.6 × 10−3 × 9 × 1016

= 5.4 × 1013 J

2. Convert Energy to kW h:

E (in kW h) = `(5.4 xx 10^13 J)/(3.6 xx 10^6 J//kW h)`

= 1.5 × 107 kW h

The energy obtained is 1.5 × 107 kW h.
