(a − b)2 = a2 + b2 − 2ab
⇒ (a − b)2 = 29 − 2×10
⇒ (a − b)2 = 29 − 20
⇒ (a − b)2 = 9
⇒ a − b = `sqrt9`
⇒ a − b = ±3
