Solution

The four factors of production – land, labour, capital, and entrepreneurship – are different from one another because each has a specific role in the production of goods and services. However, they are also interconnected and work together.

  1. Land: Land refers to all the natural resources used in production, such as soil, water, forests, minerals, plants, and animals. These resources are provided by nature and are used as raw materials for different economic activities.
  2. Labour: Labour means the physical and mental efforts of people involved in production. It includes farmers, factory workers, teachers, doctors, engineers, and other skilled or unskilled workers. Their knowledge, skills, and efforts help in producing goods and services.
  3. Capital: Capital consists of man-made resources used to produce goods and services. It includes machines, tools, buildings, vehicles, computers, and other equipment. Capital helps workers produce goods more efficiently and in larger quantities.
  4. Entrepreneurship: Entrepreneurship is the ability to organise and manage the other factors of production. An entrepreneur brings together land, labour, and capital, makes important decisions, takes risks, and introduces new ideas to run the business successfully.
