What is the negative impact of keeping the aged parents in the ‘old age home’?

Every action has two consequences, i.e. positive and negative. In the same way, keeping aged parents in a ‘Home for the Aged’ can have positive and negative consequences.

Negative consequences:

The materialistic world and individualistic approach force people to depend on ‘Home for the Aged’ for taking care of their ageing parents, depriving them of their responsibilities towards them. It’s the duty of the youngsters to care for older people and meet their needs. Most of the old age homes lack basic facilities, so instead of caring for elderly people, they may face exploitation and vulnerability in old age homes.
