- In open circulation, blood is not enclosed in blood vessels but pumped directly into the cavity called haemocoel whereas, in the closed type of circulation, blood flows within the blood vessels and does not come in direct contact with cells and body tissues.
- Therefore, in closed blood circulation blood flows under high pressure and allows the blood to pass faster and achieve a high level of distribution within the body.
Thus, closed circulation is more efficient than open circulation.
