Question
Find (m + n) ÷ (m - n), if: m = `2/3` and n = `3/2`
Advertisements
Solution
Using formula (m + n) ÷ (m − n)
`= (2/3 + 3/2) ÷ (2/3 - 3/2)`
`= ((2xx2)/(3xx2) + (3xx3)/(2xx3)) ÷ ((2xx2)/(3xx2) - (3xx3)/(2xx3))`
(LCM of 3 and 2 = 6)
`= ((4 +9)/6) ÷ ((4-9)/6)`
`= 13/6 ÷ ((-5)/6)`
`= 13/6 xx 6/(-5) = - 13/5`
