Fig. shows the position of an object and its image. Copy the diagram and then by drawing two rays locate the position of the lens and its focus, showing clearly the kind of lens used.

The lens used is a convex lens. The object is placed between the principal focus F and the optical centre O of the lens. Hence, the image formed is virtual, erect and magnified on the same side of the lens as the object.
