Given,

x2 – x – 6

Regrouping the terms such that there is a common term to take out.

Therefore, we get:

= x2 – 3x + 2x – 6

= x(x – 3) + 2(x – 3)

= (x + 2) (x – 3)

Hence, the factors are (x + 2) (x – 3).
