1. Delays: It is necessary to adhere to the established chain of command. Decision-making time may increase as a result of such procedural delays.
2. Rigidity: Formal organisations don't offer enough flexibility to identify creative potential.
3. Incomplete picture: Formal organisations place more emphasis on work and structure than on interpersonal interactions. As such, it doesn't give a whole picture of how an organisation functions.
