Solution

In four O’clock plant (Mirabilis jalapa), red RR crossed with white rr produces pink Rr in F1. Selfing F1 gives F2 in the ratio 1 red : 2 pink : 1 white, showing incomplete dominance. In garden pea, violet is completely dominant over white, so the F1 is violet and the F2 phenotypic ratio is 3 : 1.
