Solution

Match point in badminton is the situation when the side that wins the next rally will win the match. Because matches are best-of-three and each game is normally played to 21 points (with a two-point lead required except that at 29‑all the next point wins), a match point happens when a side that is one game away from winning the match is also one point away from winning the current game (for example: up 1–0 in games and leading 20–19 in the second game, or leading 20–19 in a deciding third game). In extended deuce play (20‑all or beyond), any instance where a side is one point from clinching the deciding game, including the 29‑all golden point,is a match point.
