Solution
Bagasse is the dry, fibrous residue remaining after sugarcane or sorghum stalks are crushed to produce juice. Rather than being dumped as waste, this organic residue is widely used as a sustainable biofuel to generate electricity and steam for sugar mills. Bagasse is also widely utilised as a sustainable raw material for the production of eco-friendly paper, cardboard, disposable packaging and building boards, which reduces dependency on tree pulp.
