  1. The Israeli military launched a preemptive air strike on 5th June, 1967, which enabled the destruction of the air forces of Egypt, Syria, and Jordan within a matter of hours.
  2. Almost immediately, Israeli ground forces were able to seize control of the Sinai Peninsula and the Gaza Strip from Egypt.
  3. Additionally, Israel seized control of the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Arab Jordan.
  4. Israel was able to seize control of the Golan Heights from Syria.
  5. There were only six days of fighting until the war came to a conclusion on 10th June, 1967, with Israel achieving a clear victory.
  6. This bloody conflict drastically altered the political and territorial map of the Middle East.
