Solution

  1. Cationic complexes: They have a positively charges coordination sphere.
    e.g. [Co(NH3)5 Cl]SO4, [Co(NH3)5 Cl]2⊕.
  2. Anionic complexes: They have a negatively charged coordination sphere.
    e.g. K3[Fe(CN)6], [Fe(CN6)].
  3. Neutral complex: A complex ion which has no net charge is called a neutral complex.
    e.g. [Pt(NH3)2], [Ni(CO)4]
