• Main Functions: It regulates the Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) of the body by controlling cellular oxidation, protein synthesis, and general physical growth.
• Disorders: The hyposecretion of this hormone causes Simple Goitre, Cretinism, and Myxoedema, whereas its hypersecretion results in Exophthalmic Goitre.
