Solution

Given :

Magnetic field in the space, B = `0.20 xx 10^-3  "T"`

Distance moved, `Δr = 50  "cm"`

We know ,

`B = -(dV)/(dl)`

⇒ `dV = ∫_(r_1)^(r^2) -  vec B.dl`

Since the magnetic field is uniform, it can come out of the integration sign.

⇒ `ΔV = - B.(Δr)`
here , `ΔV` is the change in the potential
`therefore` Change in the potential = `-0.2 xx 10^-3 xx 0.5`
= `-0.1 xx 10^-3   "T-m"`

Here, the negative sign shows that the potential decreases.
