For instance, there are 11 teams, and then the number of teams in the upper half would be

`(n+1)/2`

= `(11+1)/2`

= `12/2`

= 6 teams in upper half

The number of teams in lower half would be

`(n-1)/2`

= `(11-1)/2`

= `10/2`

= 5 teams in lower half
