Solution
The haunted house is at the top of the hill. There is no sign of human habitation in and around there. The bats were hovering above the house in the moonlight. The trees around the house are withered and bare. The house is modernised, it is really terrific to look at. As in the poem, this house may have been occupied by the ghosts.
